A flower display fridge holds cut flowers and foliage cool and humid out on the shop floor, so the stock keeps its colour and shape and customers can pick straight from the cabinet. Flowers left in baskets at room temperature wilt and end up discounted or thrown out, and that is the cost a flower display fridge takes off your week.

Our range of commercial flower display fridges includes single door cabinets for a small florist up to triple door models for a big retail floor, so you can buy the size that suits your business at its current size, then size up as your business grows. They hold between 1℃ and 15℃, keep the air humid, light the stock with LEDs and take adjustable shelves for different flower heights. Order today with nationwide shipping throughout Australia.

These are the top FAQs for Flower Display Fridges

Why buy a flower fridge instead of using baskets?

Because unsold flowers in a basket wilt quickly, and that is wasted stock or stock you have to discount heavily to move. A fridge gives you two ways around it: let customers choose directly from the cabinet, or keep a limited display out front and hold the rest of the stock cold until you need it.

These fridges also earn their place before an event. You can buy and prepare flowers in bulk ahead of a wedding or a big celebration and arrange them on the day.

How is it different from a normal display fridge?

Temperature and humidity, mainly. A drinks display fridge runs colder and drier than flowers want. A flower fridge goes up to 15℃, which holds the blooms cool without damaging the petals, and it keeps the air humid rather than dry — the opposite of a dry-age fridge, which holds food at low humidity.

Cut flowers still need moisture in the air, not just water in the jar, and that humidity is what keeps them looking fresh for up to a week.

Shelving is the other difference. Flower stock varies a lot in size through the seasons, so these cabinets take a wide range of shelf positions. LED lighting is common to both kinds of fridge.

What temperature should I hold flowers at?

Anywhere between 1℃ and 15℃, and the point of the range is that you set it to suit what you are holding. Flowers that grow in different seasons want different conditions to hold their structure.

Keep flowers on their own rather than with produce, which gives off gases that make them wilt.

Does it help the display as well as the stock?

Yes, which is most of the reason to buy one. Like a food display on a counter, the cabinet lights the stock and lets customers see and choose what they want at any hour, through single, double or triple doors.

The adjustable shelves let you stock varieties of different heights together, so you can build mixed bouquets and posies in the cabinet rather than just lining up buckets.

Which brands do you stock?

Skope is the leading name we carry in flower refrigeration. They also do custom refrigeration if you need something larger, smaller or a different shape from their standard made-to-order models.

Is an energy-efficient model worth it?

It is the same argument as any other appliance that runs continuously: an energy-efficient fridge uses less power for the same job, so the bill is lower and so is the environmental impact.

The flowers are the other half of it. Held at the right temperature your stock can last up to a week, which is a week of selling instead of a bin full of wilted flowers.
