Commercial bench fridges put chilled storage directly under the work surface, so prep ingredients sit within arm's reach of whoever is cooking.
A bench fridge is built to be worked on: a stainless top rated for daily use, with doors or drawers below. Our commercial bench fridges include single door models for a cafe bench up to longer multi-door units along a kitchen line, so you can buy the size that suits your business at its current size, then size up as your business grows. See commercial under bench fridges for the same format under an existing bench, and chef base refrigerators where cooking equipment sits on top.

These are the top FAQs for Commercial Bench Fridges
Bench fridge or under bench fridge?
They overlap. A bench fridge is free-standing with its own work top; an under bench unit is built to slide beneath an existing bench.
Both sit in commercial under counter fridges.
Doors or drawers?
Drawers put pans in reach without bending into a cabinet; doors suit bulk stock and taller items.
Pans that fit are in gastronorm containers.
Can I work directly on top?
Most stainless tops are built for it, but check the product page before putting hot equipment on the surface.
Stainless benches without refrigeration are in commercial stainless steel benches.
What about frozen stock on the line?
Commercial under counter freezers match the same height.
Back-of-house storage is in commercial upright fridges.
What weight can the top of a bench fridge take?
Enough for normal prep work, but load ratings vary and hot equipment needs a unit built for it. Check the product page, and choose a chef base refrigerator if cooking equipment will sit on top.
Plain work surfaces without refrigeration are in commercial stainless steel benches.
How do I stop a bench fridge running hot on the line?
Keep it clear of fryers, grills and ovens, leave the ventilation path open, and clean the condenser regularly. Heat from neighbouring equipment is the most common cause of poor performance.
If the line runs hot year-round, look at tropical fridges, which are rated for high ambient temperatures.
