A 1 door display freezer keeps frozen stock cold and in front of customers, so people can see what is in it and pick it up themselves. One door is the smallest frontage we sell, which suits a convenience store counter, a small cafe adding ice cream, or a single frozen line in a bigger shop.

Single door units are usually self-contained and plug into a standard outlet. For more frontage, see 2 door display freezers and 3 door display freezers.

These are the top FAQs for 1 Door Display Freezers

How much stock does one door hold?

Enough for a single frozen line or a small ice cream range. Capacity is listed per model.

Browse the format in display freezers.

Where should it go?

On the path customers already take, out of direct sun and away from the entry, where draughts and warm air make the unit work harder.

Chilled lines sit in cold food displays.

Does it cost more to run than a solid door freezer?

We would not claim either way without testing them. Glass doors are double glazed, and although glass holds the cold slightly less well than an insulated panel, a glass door spends far less time open, because staff and customers can see the stock without opening it. A solid door gets opened and closed all day and loses cold air every time, so the overall power use and cost of ownership may still come out lower with glass.

The other half of it is sales: stock people can see sells faster. Back-of-house storage, where nobody needs to see in, is cheaper in commercial upright freezers.

How do I stop the glass fogging?

Double glazing and heated frames are designed to prevent it, and clean seals matter as much as the specification in a humid shop.

The same applies across display freezers.

How do I know a door seal has gone?

Ice around the frame, condensation on the glass or a seal that no longer grips a sheet of paper closed in the door. A failing seal makes the unit run constantly.

Seals are replaceable on most cabinets and it is the cheapest repair there is.
